WHY MELIORA?

(page 2)

Who should join Meliora?

Patients of Meliora Family Medicine will be a diverse group of people, but share some or all of the following interests. These may include:

  • People and families interested in developing a relationship with a physician who is willing and able to take the time to make sure all of their health issues are addressed.

  • People who want a physician who will advocate for them in our health system.

  • People who are interested in wellness and prevention.

  • Busy people, who value their time and do not want to spend half their day on hold, or waiting for an appointment with their doctor.

  • People who want their physician held accountable to their patients, not to insurance or pharmaceutical companies  with priorities that may conflict with what is truly necessary for your health care.

  • People who want access to their physician through technology, such as email communication and virtual online visits.

  • People who value a continuity relationship and want to see their own doctor, every time.

  • People who use complementary medicine and want a primary care physician who can discuss and incorporate these treatments openly and knowledgably.

  • People who are concerned for the environment, and support businesses who are using environmentally-friendly processes and products.

  • Patients are men and women of all ages, teens, and children; healthy people and people with complex chronic diseases; insured, un-insured, and under-insured. People who join this practice are making an investment in their own current and future health. They are investing in Meliora Family Medicine and supporting positive change in our health care system.

    Who should not join?

Someone who is uncomfortable paying an annual fee may not wish to join. If this is you, please consider other services that require a monthly payment, such as your phone, cable or satellite television service, and health club memberships. All of these businesses require a fee to support their ability to provide you with their service regardless of whether you actually make a phone call, turn on the TV, or attend your daily workout. This is Meliora’s business concept also. You may not need the services of a doctor every day, but you are certainly happy to have access available when you need it.

Those who are thrilled with their current primary care  should also not switch!   It is important to note that most primary care doctors are good people trapped in a dysfunctional system, not bad doctors.
